I am a digital designer, currently working full time with Meridian Energy’s web team.
With over 15 years experience in grassroots brand development and creative design, I have hands on experience with many aspects of design. From logo development, print and web design to fashion, performance sportswear and textile design & development. I have collaborated with world leaders in design, including Yohji Yamamoto’s former head designer Yu Homma, and Cameron Silver, listed in ‘Time’ magazine as one of the world’s 25 most influential people in fashion.
My career started when I was two years old when my family set up knitwear company Snowy Peak. Fast forward to 2000, I had a Bachelor of Design (Fashion), a Master of Arts (Performance Sportswear Design) under my belt when I returned from designing in Europe to join the family business as Design Director for Untouched World. I was responsible for the overall aesthetics of the brand, from the collections, to the branding, to the catalogues, advertisements, point of sale and the website design.
In 2010 after the birth of my first child, I started Designed by Emily to give clients the opportunity to access my international design expertise one on one. Designed by Emily is an international award winning design studio specialising in simple, beautiful design based in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are no longer taking any new clients for Designed by Emily design studio.
